Ben and Kelly’s wedding at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Arizona felt like stepping into a beautiful garden party tucked away inside the desert. From the quiet getting ready moments to the candle lit dinner in the courtyard, every part of their day leaned into soft pink tones, timeless architecture and that relaxed elegance the Royal Palms is known for.
As an Arizona wedding photographer, Royal Palms is one of those venues that instantly elevates a wedding day. The historic estate, lush gardens and spanish colonial inspired courtyards create an atmosphere that feels intimate and luxurious.

A Historic Phoenix Estate, Royal Palms Resort
There’s a reason Royal Palms Resort and Spa is consistently one of the most popular luxury wedding venues in the state.
The property offers an incredible combination of historic charm, luxury services and natural beauty. Every part of the venue feels curated. From the location surrounded by mountain views, to the luscious gardens, and the courtyards. But, one of the biggest advantages is that Royal Palms functions as an all-in-one wedding venue.
Couples can host:
- Getting ready in the resort suites
- The ceremony at one of three stunning locations throughout the resort
- Cocktail hour in the gardens or courtyard
- Dinner in the Montavista Courtyard
- And the reception inside the ballroom
Not to mention that all guests can stay at the resort as well. There’s no need for transportation between locations. Because of this, everyone can stay fully present throughout the entire celebration.

Ben and Kelly’s Arizona Wedding
Ben and Kelly chose to wait until the ceremony to see each other for the first time. This made their walk down the aisle even more emotional. Their ceremony took place in the Alegria Garden, one of the most romantic spaces on the property. The lush greenery paired with the pink roses used as a theme throughout their day made the garden feel ethereal and completely secluded from the outside world.

Portraits Around Royal Palms Resort
After the ceremony we spent time exploring the property for wedding portraits. The Royal Palms has an incredible variety of backdrops in a relatively small area. One moment you’re wandering the gardens, the next you’re standing beneath palm trees with the Camelback Mountains rising in the distance.

A Candlelit Dinner In The Montavista Courtyard
As the sun set, guests made their way to the central courtyard for dinner. The courtyard at the Royal Palms Resort transformed into a candlelit reception space lined with pink florals and white linens. The romantic tones felt throughout the day were front and center in this space. The warm stone walls of the courtyard held onto the evening light, feeling like a beautifully hosted dinner party beneath the desert sky.

A Historic Arizona Estate that Feels Like an Escape
Tucked back at the base of the Camelback Mountains, the Royal Palms Resort and Spa is one of the most sought-after wedding venues in Arizona. The Royal Palms Resort was originally built in the 1920s as a private winter residence. The resort now hosts thousands of people every year as a luxury resort.
Walking through the property feels like walking through a Spanish villa. Stone walkways wind throughout the property. Among the walkways are stunning gardens, fountains echoing in the courtyards and ivy climbs the warm stucco walls. It’s the kind of place where every corner feels intentionally designed.

For Ben and Kelly the Royal Palms perfectly matched the romantic atmosphere they envisioned for their wedding day. Their palette of pink roses and blush tones fit seamlessly into the garden setting.
